Culturally, the word “repentance” is seen as archaic and draconian. However, it was the leading message of John the Baptist when preparing the people for the Messiah. Repentance is a change of heart. The heart is malleable to the direction of God. Elder and church plant resident James Foster closes out 2017 with a look at challenges that lead to change. This week’s scripture comes from Matthew 3.

Jesus picked up on John the Baptist’s theme of repentance and preached the very same thing and was looking for people to introspectively seek a change from within. Although challenging, Jesus lead those who were willing to heed his direction toward a life or repentance. This week, pastor Chris teaches from Matthew 4:1-11.
