Jesus often told people, “Follow me.” The immediate context may have lead to a party, as it did for Matthew, but ultimately this meant that that person gave up their life and put their full trust in fulfillment and joy in Jesus. Some have taken that to mean that “once I follow Jesus, I will be rich, famous, or have an amazing body.” While some have totally changed their life for the better; riches, fame, and a better body on Earth isn’t the promise of Jesus. Others understood the cost of following Jesus, but some have delayed following Jesus until they knock out their bucket list. They put the priorities of their Kingdom first. In this series, Pastor Chris Plekenpol shares what Jesus meant for people to be a disciple.
